Fort Langley Seniors Community is currently seeking qualified cooks for casual positions.
The successful applicant will be a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, and is responsible for preparing meals which contribute to a balanced, nutritious, and appealing diet for the residents of our home. Our cooks provide leadership to the food service staff, promote food safety, and maintain an orderly and sanitary work area. Employees are expected to treat residents with dignity and an attitude of caring. Previous experience with therapeutic diets (e.g., texture modifications) is an asset.
Qualifications: - Formal training in quantity food preparation from a recognized training institution or school, and must be certified in Safe Food Handling course - At minimum Current Food Safe Level 1 Certificate, but Advanced Food Safe Level 2 Certificate is preferred - Current Criminal Records Check from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General - Previous experience in institutional cooking and/or long term care required - Previous WHMIS training preferred
