Cook/Chef - Barrie, ON

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Food Services, the successful applicant will be responsible for the preparation of food for the Residents, staff and meals for the Outreach Program while maintaining a high standard of quality of food preparation and waste management.  Standardized recipes are used to determine the quantities of food required to meet the daily needs.

 

 

 

Qualifications:           Graduate of a Culinary Management Program or

Certification as a Cook and have Red Seal

Proton and Smart Serve Certificate

Grade twelve or equivalent;

Two (2) years’ working experience cooking meals for large groups of people;         

An understanding of the Aging Process and how it applies to the dietary needs;

                                    Qualified knowledge of therapeutic diets;

Good knowledge of Public Health sanitation methods in the handling of food;

                                    Excellent interpersonal skills;

                                    Good written and verbal communication skills;

                                    Self motivated, organized and conscientious;

 

                                     

Status:                        Casual and Part Time Positions Available

 

Hours of Work:         Variable depending on shift
