Session Description
Dehydration is a large concern for the elderly.  It is a key component to build a strong foundation for good health, reducing risk of falls and infections, wound healing, bowel regularity and many other conditions.  Dehydration can lead to hospitalization and can even be fatal, therefore early monitoring and interventions are crucial.  Join Stacey to learn more about dehydration in the elderly and how you can be part of a proactive team in reduce the risks of dehydration.

Presenter: Stacey Scaman, RD Corporate Dietitian, Seasons Care Dietitian Network

Stacey is a Corporate Dietitian at Seasons Care Dietitian Network.  She provides support to Seasons Care Dietitians and provides ongoing dietary and nutrition support and education to Long Term Care facilities Ontario wide.  She works closely with various facilities to improve their dietary departments in order to meet Ontario legislation requirements. In 2015, Stacey travelled to California to present on Hydration at the Point Click Care Summit.

Prior to working with Seasons Care Dietitian Network, Stacey was a Consulting Dietitian providing individual and group education on a variety of topics including healthy eating, childhood nutrition, sport nutrition, diabetes, chronic disease management and more.
