Please join us for the 2016 Gerontology Network Workshop on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Best Western PLUS Lamplighter Inn & Conference Centre in London, Ontario.

The foundation of the day’s discussion will be the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI). Luis will educate us on the IDDSI which was founded in 2013 with the goal of developing new global standardised terminology and definitions to describe texture modified foods and thickened liquids used for individuals with dysphagia of all ages, in all care settings, and all cultures. In April, 2015 feedback on a draft framework was solicited through an international survey. Natalie & Caterina will share how Extendicare Canada plans to rollout this new initiative within their long term care homes across the country. Nestlé Health Science, a platinum sponsor of the IDDSI, will be on hand demonstrating Testing Tools to Implement IDDSI in LTC.
