DIVISIONAL DIETARY SYSTEM SPECIALIST
Health Services– Long Term Care
Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton ON

Reporting to the Supervisor, Practise, Innovation and Education, Long term Care, this position is responsible for providing strategic assistance, research and day to day operational support and expert guidance for the divisional dietary system program delivered by the LTC division. This role is a leader in practice improvements and advancements in LTC and is responsible for enhancing dietary processes across the Division to improve resident and client outcomes.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Providing professional dietary expertise, guidance and recommendations for LTC decision making and delivery of service.
2. Acts as a resource for LTC dietary related issues and advancements
3. Coaches mentors and guides the practice & skills development for dietary staff
4. Manages the Customized Menu program system and researches, coordinates and delivers menu initiatives
5. Manages and approves menu edits, according to divisional menu guidelines
6. Leads the maintenance, advancement and data update of the dietary menu software systems.
7. Develops and manages divisional eCPS Order Guide •Monitors and follows up with vendor issues
8. Manages divisional Recipe maintenance system while testing, updating and developing dietary recipes to ensure recipes
    are in compliance with the MOHLTC Act, 2007 and Ontario Regulations, Public Health and the Region of Peel Policies and
    Procedures, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines
9. Researches and implements possible recipe solutions to assist homes with trouble shooting recipe preparation issues
10. Develops and conducts dietary department audits according to LTCH Act dietary Inspection Protocols and divisional standards
11. Develops, evaluates and maintains operational dietary policies, standards and guidelines Manages the Menu Satisfaction
      Survey rollout, data analysis, trending and implementation of key recommendations
12. Facilitates divisional dietary peer group
13. Actively contributes expertise to Divisional and Corporate initiatives such as Strategic Planning and Accreditation, as it  
      pertains to role responsibilities.
14. Fulfil additional work related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

• Post-Secondary School diploma or degree in Food Nutrition Management and/or culinary Management
• Registered member in good standing with CSNM and OSNM
• Red Seal Cook required
• Minimum five years food services experience in a health care setting
• Minimum two experience in Long Term Care with knowledge of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care standards,
   guidelines and requirements for the long term care industry
• Experience in Adult Education is an asset
• Highly computer literate include solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project and Power Point
• Working knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge and project management processes
• Strong presentation and written communication skills
• Strong collaborative and consultative leadership style
• Client service oriented, with ability to effectively work with staff at all levels of the corporation
• Demonstrated commitment to practice advancement
• Planning, organizational and workload management skills

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton Ontario 
Hours of work: 8:30am to 4:30pm; Monday through Friday
