JOB SUMMARY:
Parkview Home is seeking a Casual Cook/Dietary Aide responsible for supporting a variety of aspects within the Food Services Department in order to meet the needs of our residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and cook full course meals following therapeutic menus/production sheets and standardized recipes.
• Prepare and cook special meals for patients following individualized menus that pertain to specific allergies
and/or food intolerances.
• Work with specialized cooking equipment.
• Serve meals following therapeutic menus.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Follow safe food handling practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Food Service Worker certificate required
• Current Food Handler’s certificate required
• Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Check
• Red Seal certification an asset
• 1 year cooking experience in institutional large quantity cooking an asset
• Knowledge of LTC standards, Health and Safety policies and Public Health Standards.
• Able to follow recipes, production sheets, and therapeutic menus.
• Must have effective reading, written English and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and troubleshooting skills.
