Nutrition Assistant - Tray Assembly Services


Reporting to Manager, Food Services, the Nutrition Assistant will ensure policy and procedures are followed and provide the appropriate tools to staff, in order to supply nutritious and safe food to patients in a timely manner.


Rate of Pay:                $26.141 per hour - $32.676 per hour    

Hours of Work:            37.5 hours per week


Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a two year diploma in Food & Nutrition Management
  • Current member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM)
  • Two years of recent, related experience
  • Demonstrated proficient knowledge of food science, therapeutic nutrition, food bacteriology, and food service systems
  • Advanced ability to self-direct and prioritize work
  • Demonstrated excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient knowledge of working in a unionized environment
  • Demonstrated proficient computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and CBORD)
  • Demonstrated facilitating and coaching skills
  • Adaptable and able to manage change
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
  • Demonstrated advanced team building skills acting as a successful team member
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
