Food Services and Environmental Supervisor - Stoney Creek, ON
Position: Food Services and Environmental Supervisor

We are looking for a Food Service/Environmental Supervisor in Stoney Creek, Ontario. This position is in a quaint country 45 bed LTC facility and Retirement community. Applicant must be a member in good standing with the CSNM.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Supervisor coordinates and supervises the operations of the Food Services and Environmental Departments in accordance with company policies and MOH-LTC legislation.

This is a full time position.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversees all duties performed by the dietary staff.
• Supervises the preparation and service of all meals and nourishments.
• Ensures that food is prepared according to standardized menus and recipes.
• Forecasts menu requirements and prepares production sheets and orders for staff.
• Ensures that cleaning and safety procedures are followed.
• Completes regular inventory, prepares and places orders for groceries and environmental products.
• Conducts meal rounds, interacting with residents, families and staff.
• Assists in the orientation of new employees.
• Resolves routine work problems and grievances.
• Assists in the staff training and education program.
• Oversees Maintenance, Laundry and Housekeeping
• Other duties as required.

Clinical Nutrition Duties:
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date resident meal serving notes.
• Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Attends care conferences as required.
• Other duties as required.


Qualifications:
• Must be a member of CSNM (Canadian Society of Nutrition Management)
• Knowledge in Environmental Services (includes maintenance, laundry and housekeeping) preferred.
• Experience in a managerial/supervisory position within a long term care/retirement setting
• Position requires a current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and Point Click Care and the ability to learn other software applications.
• Must have: Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Good interpersonal skills for dealing with all types of people
• Good problem solving skills
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment
• The ability to remain composed when faced with unexpected problems and stressful situations.
