Casual Cook - Nanaimo, BC
Island Health is looking for a casual cook in Nanaimo, BC.
In this role, you will prepare and serve meals (including special diets). You will work with residents developing meal preparation, cooking and kitchen organization skills in accordance to the rehabilitation plan. Along with performing routine cleaning duties, your responsibilities include monitoring equipment and receiving supplies.
Some travel between sites may be required. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirement of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
Qualifications
Ideally you have six months’ recent experience and your certification as a cook with the Industry Training and Apprenticeship Commission (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience). Food Safe Levels 1 and 2 are required, along with your certification in First Aid and CPR.
The successful candidate will be required to complete the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum and Code White Training within three months of employment.
