Position: Patient Food Service Supervisor

Location: Kingston, ON 

Overview:

  • We are looking for a part time (casual) Patient Food Service Supervisor to help deliver best services at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, Kingston General Hospital site

 Duties:

  • The Supervisor will assist in delivering best results and will be involved in all aspects of the patient food services operations, including purchasing, production, assembly, distribution, and sanitation.
  • S/he will assist with managing personnel, food and equipment costs and will delegate responsibilities and duties to others in the department. Also, they will assist in the training of staff, implementing and managing performance improvement programs.  
  • The incumbent will be part of a management team in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities of the department, maintaining standards of quality of services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Great Attitude!
  • Member of Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM)
  • Food and Nutrition Management Diploma from an approved Community College and/or university degree in Food Service and Nutrition.
  • Excellent customer and client-relationship skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong supervisory, leadership and coaching skills, excellent organizational and problem solving skills

 Assets:

  • CBORD or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment
