Entrance Exam Preparing for your exam This is your go-to resource for information on how to be ready for your CSNM entrance exam, and what to anticipate on test day. Entrance examination dates 2026 February 24, 2026 May 26, 2026 August 25, 2026 November 24, 2026 2027 February 23, 2027 May 25, 2027 August 31, 2027 November 30, 2027 Arranging for a CSNM examination Step One: Apply for Active Membership + Apply for membership online or mail your application package to the address below. Your application package should include the following: copy of your diploma copy of transcript of marks $60.00 non-refundable application processing fee Note: there are additional requirements for those who have graduated from a post-secondary program other than one of our accredited programs. Ste. 300 Toronto, Ontario M3B 3N7 Step Two: Application Review & Approval + The application package will be reviewed by the Admissions/Membership Committee for approval to write the exam. Once approved for the exam, you will be scheduled into the next available exam date, and an email will be sent advising you of your approval, as well as your deadline to submit the examination fees.  After you have been approved for the exam, access to an online practice exam will be sent to you approximately 3 weeks prior to your scheduled exam date. The set exam time is from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm EST. Step Three: Pay Exam Fee + You can submit the Exam Fee payment by one of the following methods: Pay the exam fee online, by using the log-in credentials emailed to you. Pay by e-transfer, send the e-transfer notification to csnm@csnm.ca  If you need to create a security question, please let us know by separate email what the question/answer is so that the payment can be processed. Pay by Cheque or Money Order and mail into the CSNM Office. Please make a cheque or money order payable to Canadian Society of Nutrition Management. Please allow three to five days for mailing. Ste. 300 Toronto, Ontario M3B 3N7 Step Four: Rescheduling (if required) + An exam candidate may reschedule their exam to the next available exam date. The cost to re-schedule the exam is $50 plus tax. (ONLY ONE change in exam date will be allowed).    Please note: if you choose to reschedule your exam, and then for some reason are unable to write the exam on the new exam date, you will not be allowed to change the date a second time. At that point your file would be closed and if you choose you can re-apply at a later date, and pay any applicable fees. If you decide not to write or re-write the exam, cancel it, and wish a refund of the exam fees paid, please note that there will be a $50 non-refundable administration charge. If you wish to cancel or postpone your exam within 5 business days of the exam date you are scheduled for, you may be subject to a $50 Re-Scheduling Fee. Step Five: Study! + Our website offers a study guide and a variety of helpful resources Any special accommodations that the exam candidate might require needs to be arranged with the CSNM Office and the Examinations Portfolio Manager ahead of time. You may also have to provide support documentation. Notice of exam results will be sent to you in writing 4 to 6 weeks after the initial examination date. What to expect on exam day We’ve put together some key information to help you know what to expect when it comes to your exam. Passing Requirements As part of the eligibility for membership with CSNM, you will need to obtain at least 65% on the CSNM Entrance Examination. Exam Format The CSNM entrance examination includes 100 multiple choice and true/false questions, plus 3 long answer essay questions. General Exam Rules There are a number of rules you need to know as you prepare for your entrance exam. Any violation of the examination rules or any cheating will result in your exam being null and void.
