I’m Ready to Nominate Award of Excellence – Recognition of an Exemplary Member This award is to be presented to an exemplary member of CSNM in recognition of his/her prominent leadership, dedication and provision of positive support in strengthening the goals and professional development of the Society. Requirements + Must be an Active member of CSNM for a minimum of five (5) consecutive years; Must have served at least one term of office as an elected member of the CSNM Board of Directors Must be professionally employed in Food Service and Nutrition Management or in a related field; Must be nominated by a minimum of five (5) active members of CSNM, Each must complete the online nomination form. Self-nominations are not eligible. Certificate of Achievement This award is to be presented to a member of CSNM in recognition of his/her leadership, dedication and positive support of the Society. Requirements + Must be an active member of CSNM for a minimum of three (3) years; Must have served at least one term of office as an elected member of the CSNM Board of Directors Must be employed in Food Service and Nutrition Management or in a related field; Must be nominated by two (2) active members of CSNM; Each must complete the online nomination form. Self-nominations are not permitted. Certificate of Recognition This award is to be presented to a member of CSNM in recognition of his/her dedication and positive support of the Profession. Requirements + Must be an Active member of CSNM for a minimum of three (3) years; Must be employed in Food Service and Nutrition Management or in a related field; Must be nominated by two (2) active members of CSNM or by their employer; Must provide a profile of the members' contribution together with a letter of recommendation; Self-nominations are not permitted. Honorary/Life Member Award This award is to recognize a Member’s contribution to the Society by providing a member with a Life Membership in CSNM. Requirements + Must have been an active member of CSNM for a minimum of 20 years; Must have served at least one term of office as an elected member of the CSNM Board of Directors Must be retiring from Food Service and Nutrition Management or in a related field Nominated by two Active members of CSNM. Each must complete the online nomination form. Self-nominations are not permitted. Mentor Award This Award recognizes outstanding mentors of students in Food and Nutrition Management programs across Canada. Winners of the CSNM Mentor Award will meet the following criteria: Requirements + Current and relevant knowledge, expertise and leadership in the Food and Nutrition Management profession; Personal investment of commitment, time and energy to build a mentoring relationship based on mutual trust and respect; The sharing of professional experiences and lessons learned, including successes and mistakes; A learning attitude coupled with self-confidence: a positive role model. CSNM Mentor Award candidates will be nominated by current or former students or program directors. Submissions must include: A one-page outline supporting the nominee’s qualifications for the Award, with a detailed description of the role that the nominee showed in mentoring and promoting the Food Service and Nutrition Management profession; A letter of support from the Program Director and/or Student. Following the close of entries, all applications will be reviewed by the Honours and Awards Committee. Incomplete applications are excluded from the review process. The Honours and Awards Committee reserves the right to limit the number of awards granted in any category, or grant no awards in any given year if, in the opinion of the Honours and Awards Committee, no entry is of sufficient merit.
