FOOD SERVICE SUPERVISOR – Brantford

 

Nutritional Management Services has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic and professional Food Service Supervisor for 31 hours per week (10am – 5:45pm) Monday – Thursday at our client’s 205 bed long-term care facility located in Brantford, Ontario.  This position reports to the on-site Food Service Manager.

 

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

  • CSNM member in good standing.
  • A current police check with vulnerable persons screening.
  • 1-2 years prior food service supervisory experience ideally in a long-term care setting, 5 years experience preferred.
  • Current Food Handler’s certification an asset.
  • Self-directed time management and organizational skills.
  • Resident focused with a caring attitude.
  • Must have exceptional leadership ability, excellent communication skills, sound knowledge of institutional food services, diet therapies and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Standards.
  • You have a creative mind and welcome a challenge, providing solutions for residents, clients and coworkers through troubleshooting and willingness to re-direct goals for the best outcomes.
  • Adherence to health, safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office and various menu software.

The position requires you to:

  • Be responsible for successful supervision and operation of the department with special attention to food production and service.
  • Alongside the Food Service Manager, assist in the planning of seasonal menus.
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining weekly food and non-food supplies within financial limits.
  • Assist with personnel management of staff including recruiting, training, orientation, supervising, handling disciplinary issues.
  • Conduct food service audits and determining plans of action for corrections needed.
  • Ensure Resident diet information is updated within all applicable software programs.
  • Monitor and revise production sheets and communication to staff.
  • Ensure safe food handling practices are followed.
  • Complete resident documentation in a timely manner including, but not limited to new resident admissions, care plans, care conference preparation and RAI MDS coding.
  • Assist in coordinating special function catering.
  • Assist in managing the Tuck Shop.
  • Manage any complaints regarding food service in a timely manner.
